I charge $285/hr., but my fees are a little bit different than most. I don't have a set fee for preparing an application, but instead can quote you a "ceiling" on the hours to prepare and file, once we discuss what area the application is on.

 

In effect, I am giving you the maximum I will charge for the preparation and filing, but if we get it done faster, you pay less! To be fair to both of us, I like hearing what the invention is before quoting the hours. I have yet to bill more than 40 hours for preparation and filing of a non-provisional utility patent application.

 

 

Provisional Patent Application Preparation and Filing

  (based upon hours hours worked, from 4 to 8 hrs on average)

  Includes basic keyword search, (or not if you opt)
  Electronic copies of "interesting patents"
  Application Preparation,
  USPTO Filing fee is Additional

Utility Non-Provisional Patent Application Preparation and Filing

  (based upon hours hours worked, usually 30-40 hrs per application on average)
  Includes basic keyword search, (or not if you opt)
  Electronic copies of "interesting patents",
  Application Preparation,
  USPTO Filing fee is Additional 

Design Patent Preparation and Filing

  (based upon hours work, usually 5 - 7 hrs)

  Drawings will NEED to be done by a draftsman, ~$200 to $500

  USPTO Filing fee is Additional

 

Prior Art and Patents Search

  Includes USPTO Patents (and published applications) database,

  EPO database and Japanese abstracts keyword search

   List of US Patent Classificatoins searched,

  Notes and Opinoin on at least Three/Ten Major/Minor relevance

  Patents/Applications, including electronic (pdf) version of these and

  any other patents.

 

  The above can be done on either an actual effort basis (Hourly rate below)

 

  or on a Flat-fee ($750), Credit card payable basis

 

 


Office Actions                                                      $ 285/hr
 

Once the USPTO examines the application, they will respond with an Office Action, these need to be answered individually, and typically take 4 to 8 hrs each.

 


All fees in US Dollars. Travel, Postage and any other fees are charged as incurred.

Terms: Upon acceptance of case, deposit of $1,000,
  Balance due 30 days upon filing of application
